Team Evolution – Christopher Burton PT, DPT

Chris Burton, a native of the Baltimore, MD, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Towson University in 2012. He then received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2016. Upon completion of his doctoral training, Chris was awarded the Elizabeth G. McCauley award for Clinical Proficiency. Before attending Towson University, Chris was a two-year member of the intercollegiate baseball and football teams at Malone University in Canton, OH. He has a special interest in manual therapy and sports rehab, particularly in overhead throwing athletes. Chris has had extensive exposure coaching and training baseball players at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. During his doctoral training, Chris gained invaluable experience working with diverse age and cultural populations, including patients following stroke, spinal cord injury, sports-related injury and surgery, and age-related joint dysfunction. In accordance with¬†Evolution Sports’ Internal Clinical Education Program, Chris plans to complete his Strength and Conditioning Certification (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Dry Needling Certification (Cert. DN) through the Spinal Manipulation Institute, and manual therapy certification (COMT) through Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars. He continues to enjoy participating in recreational sports and power lifting.
