Morgan Johnson

Morgan Johnson, PT, DPT, COMT, OCS, SCS, CISDN, CSCS, TSAC-F, USAW-2, AOLC

Morgan Johnson is the President and Clinical Director of Evolution Sports Physiotherapy, Inc., a state of the art facility offering Physical Therapy and sports performance training. Before beginning his career as Physical Therapist, he performed HIV vaccine studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and orchestrated clinical research projects with Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Dept. of Spine Surgery. Morgan graduated with highest honors from MCP Hahnemann University with both Masters and Clinical Doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy. Upon graduation, he received MCP’s Benjamin Mannheimer’s award for academic and clinical excellence in orthopedics, pain management, and clinical teaching. He has operated as a licensed PT in the Baltimore area since 2001. Morgan enjoys all aspects of outpatient PT and strives to further his clinical proficiency in all areas. Morgan’s clinical specialties include hand therapy, foot/ankle rehab, spine, sports medicine/orthopedics, and vestibular rehab. In addition, he is skilled in the fabrication of custom orthotics and upper extremity splinting. He has also been active as a clinical educator at the undergraduate and doctoral levels for Kinesiology students from Towson University and PT and PTA programs from around the country. He taught Advanced Principles of Strength and Conditioning at the college level.

Morgan has prided himself on his commitment to academic and clinical excellence and strives to bring this developmental process to every one of the therapists at Evolution Sports. He has been recognized as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars. Morgan has also been recognized as a board-certified specialist in Orthopedics (OCS) and a board-certified specialist in Sports Physical Therapy (SCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). He is a Certified Integrative Systemic Dry Needling Practitioner (CISDN) through the American Dry Needling Institute. Concurrently, Morgan has functioned as a personal trainer since 1992 and is credentialed as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist(CSCS) and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is a Certified Advanced Sports Performance Coach with USA Weightlifting, and a Certified Advanced Olympic Lifting Coach with Totten Training Systems.

Erin Johnson PT, DPT, USAW-1, AOLC

Erin Johnson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Towson University in 2006, and achieved her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2010. She has been practicing in an outpatient orthopedic setting since graduation with a focus on Manual Therapy and Sports Medicine, and she is currently pursuing her Manual Therapy certification through Maitland. She is a Certified Sports Performance Coach with USA Weightlifting, and also a Certified Advanced Olympic Lifting Coach with Totten Training Systems. In her free time Erin enjoys practicing martial arts – Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA, and Krav Maga – scuba diving, rock climbing, and snow boarding.

Lisa Kanning

Lisa Kanning, PT, MPT, CSCS, USAW-1

Location: Cockeysville

Lisa Kanning joined Team Evolution during the summer of 2011 after working in a vestibular rehabilitation clinic where she specialized in the treatment of disorders related to imbalance and dizziness in Las Vegas, NV. Her work also included participation in normative data collection of balance and vestibular function in Division 1 football players with interest in post-concussion comparisons. In Las Vegas she had the opportunity to work with performance athletes in Cirque de Soleil and Blue Man Group. She also served as adjunct professor for Touro University in Nevada in the physical therapy department lecturing and assisting in laboratory sessions throughout the curriculum. Prior to her work in the vestibular world, Lisa’s primary clinical experience has been in orthopedic settings that offered several aspects of rehab including sports medicine, occupational medicine, women’s health and post-operative management. She has also developed community programs for injury prevention and wellness for senior citizens as well as local high school athletes. Her passion for working with active individuals is based on her diverse athletic background which led her to Marquette University where she graduated with an undergraduate degree in English while a 3-year starter for the women’s basketball program and eventual MU Athletic Hall of Fame member.

Lisa played basketball professionally in Europe for one year prior to beginning her graduate work in physical therapy. She graduated from Marquette University’s Master of Physical Therapy program cum laude in 2003. In 2008 she became certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. She continued her work in speciality training by becoming a certified orthopaedic manual therapist through Maitland in 2014 and has achieved Level 1 and 2 certifications in trigger point dry needling through Kinetacore as well as Advanced Spinal Manipulation Institute.

Christopher Mooney PT, DPT

Location: Cockeysville

Chris Mooney received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Throughout his doctoral training, Chris gained valuable clinical experience in outpatient orthopedic, acute care, and intensive care unit during his clinical affiliations. He has an extensive background as a competitive gymnast at both the junior Olympic and division I collegiate level. Chris is the former team captain of the Temple University men’s gymnastics team, four time Academic All-American, All-Around runner up at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Championships, and NCAA Championship qualifier for All-Around. Chris has been practicing in outpatient orthopedics since graduation with an emphasis on manual therapy and has developed a strong interest in strength and conditioning. In accordance with Evolution Sports’ Internal Clinical Education Program, Chris plans on pursuing the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Certificate of Dry Needling (Cert. DN) through the Spinal Manipulation Institure, and his Certification of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) through Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars.

Jordan Shettle

Jordan Shettle PT, DPT, Cert. D.N., CSCS, AOLC

Jordan Shettle received his Bachelors degrees in Biology and Philosophy from Lycoming College in 2008. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Widener University in 2012 with a specialty focus on manual therapy and sports rehabilitation. Jordan has been practicing in an outpatient orthopedic setting since graduation, which has afforded him the opportunity to work with numerous Olympic and professional level athletes. Jordan is an accomplished soccer player having played both collegiately and in Europe. He has achieved his Dry Needling Certification (Cert. DN) through the Spinal Manipulation Institute. Jordan has additionally earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is a certified Advanced Olympic Lifting Coach through Totten Training. He is also certified to perform Y-Balance and FMS movement screens. He currently pursues the manual therapy certification (COMT) through Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars.

Madelyn Keese PT, DPT, CMTPT

Maddy Keese received her Bachelor degree in Health Science from the University of Miami in 2011. She later earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2014 with special interests in sports rehabilitation and manual therapy. Maddy has an extensive background in athletics, including both playing and coaching lacrosse at the collegiate level. Since graduation, Maddy has worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting in which she was given the opportunity to treat a wide range of patients. She has experience in administering the dynamic movement assessment (DMA), which helps to determine an athlete’s readiness for return to sport. Maddy also specializes in management of post-concussion syndrome and utilizes physiological, vestibular, and visual testing to help create an individualized treatment plan for each patient. Maddy has taken advanced manual courses through the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University and officially became a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT) in Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars in 2016. In accordance with Evolution Sports’ Internal Clinical Education Program, she is now currently pursuing the manual therapy certification (COMT) through Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars and plans on achieving the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Madelyn Keese

Justin Guy, MS, CSCS, USAW-1

Justin received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Shippenburg University. He then did his first Strength and Conditioning internship at Coastal Carolina University. Here he worked with football, baseball, track and field throwers, women’s lacrosse, and women’s volleyball. After some time at Coastal Carolina University, he completed a second internship at the University of Missouri. There he worked with football, track and field middle distance and cross-country runners, wrestling, baseball, swimming/diving, gymnastics, and softball teams. He then completed additional education at Southeast Missouri State University, receiving his master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science. As a Graduate Assistant with the strength and conditioning program, he was in charge of their D1 FCS football team. Justin has had the privilege of coaching numerous athletes that are currently playing in the NFL, MLB, and competing on the Olympic stage. Justin is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Coach Association (NSCA) as well as an United States of America Weightlifting Level 1 coach (USAW-1). He incorporates many styles of training such as Velocity-based Training, Olympic and Power-lifting progressions to best meet the individual needs of his clients. He actively competes in power-lifting and is interested in training Special Operators, Law Enforcement, and Firefighters and Emergency Response Personnel.

Tyler Ackerman, B.S., CSCS, USAW-1, AOLC

Location: Cockeysville

Tyler Ackerman is the Director of Human Performance at Evolution Sports. He received his B.S. degree in Kinesiology from Penn State in 2012. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), aUSAW Level 1 Olympic weightlifting coach, and an Advanced Olympic Lifting Coach (AOLC) through Totten Training Systems. Since graduating college Tyler has worked within a variety of settings with athletes from all sports throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. Tyler is a competitive weightlifter in the 94kg weight class and has been coaching a wide variety of athletes for over 7 years. He is currently pursuing his USAW-L2 coaching certification along with his Tactical Strength and Conditioning certification through the NSCA

As a former varsity athlete in football, and track he has a personal appreciation for how important proper coaching and conscientious training methodology is necessary to excel. His training approach stresses building a strong foundation first through using correct technique, movement patterns and programming, which will set the athlete up for success now and in the future. He has a deep passion for working with anyone who wants to take their fitness and performance to the next level, no matter what the activity or sport. Furthermore, Tyler will be spearheading the Long Term Athletic Development Program, Sports Specific Injury Prevention Programs, and Evolution Sports’ Barbell Club.

In his free time he stays active by by enjoying the great outdoors including hunting, fishing, canoeing and backpacking.

Sean Sebeck PT, DPT, USATF-L1

Location: Cockeysville 

Sean Sebeck received his Bachelors’ of Science degree in Exercise Science from West Chester University in 2013. He later earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from DeSales University in 2017. As a student, Sean learned to become a strong advocate for the physical therapy profession and has become involved in lobbying efforts at both the state and federal level. Sean’s efforts have earned him many awards from the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) student leadership award all the way up to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) student assembly core ambassador excellence in service award. Prior to beginning PT school, Sean was a varsity collegiate cross country, indoor and outdoor track runner. Following his colligate career, Sean continues to remain close with the track and field world his certification as a United States Track and Field (USATF) Level 1 coaching certificate and is United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Technical Certified. In accordance with Evolution Sports’ Internal Clinical Education Program, Sean plans on pursuing his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Certificate of Dry Needling (Cert. DN) through the Spinal Manipulation Institute, and his Certification of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) through Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars.
